How to Change the Battery in Lexus Key Fob?
If the battery in your Lexus key fob runs low, you can either get help from Lock Angeles or replace it yourself. Here’s how to do it yourself.
How to Change the Battery in a Lexus Key Fob

Do you have a traditional key that you turn in the ignition or a smart key that starts the car when you push a button? The way to replace the battery varies slightly depending on the key type.
To begin with, consult your Lexus owner’s manual to determine the appropriate battery type for the conventional ignition key. Purchase a replacement battery accordingly. Obtain a small Phillips screwdriver, a coin (ideally a 20p piece), and a paperclip. You can see one or two Phillips screw heads on the back of the key.
To replace the battery in your key, first, use a screwdriver to remove the visible screw and set it aside. Then, wiggle the back of the key to detach it from the rest of the key and lift it off. Two smaller screws hold the inside of the key together. Remove them to reveal the battery inside. You can use a paperclip to help you remove the old battery.
Insert the new battery and put the inside of the key back together, securing it with the two small screws. Finally, hook the back of the key back on and use the longer screw to hold it in place. Be careful not to lose any screws, especially the small ones!
Opening a Lexus Key Fob and Replacing the Batteries

To open the key fob, remove both screws holding it together and then pull off the back. The back should come straight off without a hook once the screws are removed. Look for the phrase “coin open” next to a small hole inside the key. With one hand, hold the interior of the key firmly, and with the other, use a coin to twist open the hole. This will give you access to the battery.
To replace the battery, use the paperclip to pop it out and insert the new one. Make sure the battery is inserted correctly. Clip the inside of the key back together and align the buttons with the holes on the outside. Then, put the back of the key in place and use screws to secure it.
Replacing the battery in a smart key is a simple process. First, slide the release button for the metal key and remove it from the fob. Next, locate the slight indentation inside the key and insert the flat part of the key into it. Finally, twist the key to open it and access the circuit board and battery.
To replace the battery in a recent Lexus fob, use a paperclip for popping out the old battery and insert a new CR1632 or CR1616 battery. Ensure the new battery fits snugly and align it with the circular marking inside the fob before clipping the two halves back together. Finally, put the metal key back into the fob.
Replacing the battery of your Lexus key should be easy, although the procedure may differ slightly depending on your model.
